SEATTLE, WA – October 15, 2026 – Play On WA, a 501(c)(4) whose mission is to create a greater understanding of social casino games in Washington, announced today that three of the state’s most respected business member organizations have pledged their support for the campaign.
Seattle Southside Chamber of Commerce, Seattle Latino Chamber of Commerce, and Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber collectively represent over 3,000 businesses, employing over 200,000 people in the broader Puget Sound region. Their combined membership spans major employers, small businesses, entrepreneurs, and civic leaders, giving them substantial influence in regional economic, workforce, and public policy discussions.
The Play On WA campaign is focused on building awareness that social casino games are free-to-play, designed purely for entertainment, and enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of adults across Washington State and millions globally. It aims to ensure that politicians, policymakers, regulators, and the public at large understand how this genre of interactive entertainment operates. Most notably, social casino games are a subset of free-to-play games that provide no options for monetary payouts or opportunities to withdraw anything of value – what’s played in the game, stays in the game.
The Chambers of Commerce that have joined understand that consumers who play social casino games do so because of the joy they experience while playing and interacting with a like-minded community. Consumers who play these games don’t do so in the hope of making money. They play them for fun.
Play On WA believes the opportunity for Washington State adults to continue to enjoy social casino games must be actively protected.
Samantha Le, IOM, President & CEO, Seattle Southside Chamber of Commerce stated, “Washington’s strength has always been rooted in innovation, entrepreneurship, and our ability to create an environment where businesses can grow with clarity and confidence. The Seattle Southside Chamber supports Play On WA because thoughtful public policy starts with understanding the industries and businesses it impacts.”
“We believe it is important to distinguish free-to-play social gaming from traditional gambling and to ensure that regulatory decisions do not create unintended consequences for consumers, employers, jobs, or Washington’s broader innovation economy,” added Marcos Wanless, president and founder of Seattle Latino Chamber of Commerce. “We are proud to join Play On WA in advancing a fact-based conversation that protects consumer choice while supporting a competitive and predictable business environment.”
Play On WA encourages local consumers, coalitions, and businesses to lend their support to the campaign and help to protect the continued freedom of play and economic growth in the state.
